On Friday 9th July, the Government announced a package of support to boost literacy skills and help pupils in the most disadvantaged regions catch up after Covid. Eligible primary schools will be supported to purchase training and resources for one of the accredited phonics programmes on the DfE’s validated list, all of which have been quality assured by an expert panel.
Schools in the regions below will be able to apply for this support:
Arun; Barking & Dagenham; City of Bristol; Camden; Dover; Greenwich; Havant; Islington; Lambeth; Lewisham; Luton; Oxford; Plymouth; Portsmouth; Sedgemoor; Southampton; Southwark; Swale; Tendring; Thanet.
If your school is in one of these regions and you would like to register your interest for this support, please complete this form with all relevant details and a member of the English Hub team at New Wave will be in touch with further information in September.
If your school is not on this list of regions, please get in touch with your local English Hub for further guidance (check here to find your nearest hub) as you may well still be eligible for funding and support.
